Dr. Rodger Nishioka, Benton Family Associate Professor of Christian Education at Columbia Theological Seminary, knows the classroom is where God intended him to be. Teaching allows him to impart wisdom to his students, yet constantly challenges him to learn more—a combination he loves. He encourages his students to engage with the world around them so their eyes can be open to what God is doing in their communities, youth groups, campus ministries and congregations. While this practice helps the students hone their skills in being attentive to the Holy Spirit, it also provides opportunities to answer the questions of what is God calling them to do and be in the world as Christians in the 21st century.
“ What is God calling me to do and be in this day in age and how do I best do that? ”
